Hi,

I'm new here, so first of all... nice to meet you all! : ) We are an Irish family of 5 with 3 kids under 8. We are currently in the process of buying a holiday home in San Pedro Del Pinatar and need some advice on local pools please. We picked the house because we really wanted 3 bedrooms to allow my Mum and Dad to come out with us (they're elderly now and i'd love them to get to enjoy it while they still can, my Dad has always dreamed of a home in Spain). However, the issue is that we sacrificed a community pool for the 3rd bedroom and our children are OBSESSED with swimming. I feel a but guilty that even though we'll be giving them this great experience, they won't have access to what they love best about holidays.  Are there any local pools that we can pay to visit? There is a hotel very close to us and i emailed them to ask if we could pay a yearly membership fee to use the pool on the 3/4 times a year that we'll be there. I also explained that we'll probably have friends and family going over at the same time as us and that we would recommend that they stay close to us at this particular hotel.  Their response was shocking to say the least, unbelievably rude and accused me of trying to bribe them!! I couldn't actually believe it. It saddens me that this was really my first experience of the locals. Anyway, hope we haven't done the wrong thing but back to my point lol...does anyone know of, or can recommend any hotels/restaurants where you can pay a membership or pay as you go in the town so that we can have access to an outdoor pool?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Edel

There is a council run pool in San Pedro del Pinatar Municipal swimming pool Aqualia Av los Antolinos 203340. it was 2 euros per day last year. There is also other pools with bars and restaurants in the area: Olympia Pool and Garden Bar; Restaurante Victoria are quite close and charge a small fee I think it was 4 euros last year.

Thank you so much for your reply, that's very helpful. Yes we will definitely be availing of the Mar Menor, i just feel like you can watch young kids better in a pool but can't wait to get a chance to do both options hopefully : ) , thanks again
