Hi - I just wondered if there are any Golfers who could advise the the best and also the most reasonable priced courses to play in Murcia ( More in the southern part). I have played Lorca before and really enjoyed and also visited Desert Springs but did not play also is there a driving range or a pitch and putt that I can go to for practice.

Many Thanks - Tony

I rate Aguilon Golf - towards Vera from Aguilas - as one of the best courses in the area and it's in much better condition than Lorca.

I'm pretty sure that these is a driving range / practice ground there too.

It's worth looking for deals on 'broker' sites such as www.leadingcourses.com, where you can get rounds for c.€50, which are generally cheaper than the direct price.

Camposol Golf is good value (€30 per round), the greens are in good condition, the layout is good, but some other areas need a little maintenance.

Otherwise it's a long drive (pardon the pun) to all the courses inland from the Mar Menor - I haven't played Roda, but I hear it's very good; and I like El Valle.

I have played Aguilon 3 times very recently and I love the course. Its in pretty good condition but bear in mind it's not an easy walk so you may need a buggy.

There is a driving range and practice areas which are a little tricky to find but you can always ask. Staff are also very friendly and helpful.

I personally am not a great fan of Roda but did like El Valle when I played it a couple of years ago.

My home course is La Serena which I do like but can understand some golfers would say its like Marmite.
