We have just booked 3 holidays to Los Alcazares and that's one of the things we were looking forward to, as we are not road cyclists. Cycling down the promenade  has been part of our holiday we have cycled early morning and later in the day and had no problems.

Depending when you are coming to LA on holiday,  you may be ok, but as yet , we have not had any clarification  from  the town hall about whether  there will be any lifting of the ban on cycling outside the Summer season.

There were people cycling on the seafront  this morning and no one seemed to be challenging  them, but the signs are still all in place prohibiting cycling .

I will post again  when I have any further  information.

A perfect example of why cyclists are an annoyance to many motorists and pedestrians - too many show no respect for any rules or good behaviour!

We are coming on the 15th September for two weeks

And then in June and September next year we have only just booked the two next year if I had known we may have looked for somewhere different.

My husband cycles on medical grounds and there is no reason why they can't make a lane for cyclists that won't interfere with pedestrians.

A cyclists’ lane could work, but would not be respected by all the pedestrians, skateboarders, scooterists, stray dogs, even more stray children....:-)

I can understand in high season they could say early morning and late afternoon.

It's a shame to penalise the cyclist when everyone else can't behave.
