Check with your lawyer that the direct debits have been set up. I assume the utilities have been connected.

Check with your lawyer for an updated IBI bill - you will need to go to bank to pay this - unless previous has paid.

You don't need to go to the bank to pay your IBI tax.

Tell your solicitor to set up a Direct Debit payment for you far easier.

Also tell them to check / sort out all your other utility bills.

Hi Roland - the only reason I mentioned paying in the bank, is if the IBI is in previous owner's name our lawyers couldn't set up the direct debit for some unknown reason, but did get us copy of the bill. No doubt every lawyer works in mysterious ways, especially as our lawyer had office in UK & Spain, but were also very good.

Let your solicitor worry about it...........that's what you are paying them for.

Make them work for their money !

Your solicitor should have told you if the vendor had paid the IBI for the year, if so, you don't need to pay anything until next year, but get assurance from your solicitor that they have set it up for you.
