Does anybody know anything about what looks like a disused farm/stables at the back of the public swimming pool?

That is where 'Mr Mariano' used to keep his horses years ago.

The horses used to pong a bit sometimes & straw used to blow onto the road sometimes.

He relocated to that fancy stable yard place on the side of the La Pinilla road. His house is on the opposite side of the road up there.

Thanks for responding.

Did the stables restaurant pre-date the urbanisation?

Had a fantastic meal at the restaurant last week, it would be great if the pool reopened.

I assume the building opposite was a bank looking at the large safe outside?

I think the restaurant and stables were built at the same time, could be wrong though

The pool belonging to Mariano's has been closed for maybe 7 or 8 years.

I don't know the reasons for its closure. It only used to open June July and August but was well packed most of the time

Yes the building was a bank.

The original bank on A was a bus bank in the commercial centre car park !!

It then moved into that building.

It closed a few years ago.

Nice to hear a recommendation for Mariano's.

Mariano, owner of Mariano's Restaurant is a leading horse breeder in this area. That "farm" was where he operated from  It became a  nuisance for stink; and stinking horse bedding used to blow all over the nearby streets and house gardens  in high winds.  He re-located a few years ago to a more suitable place. Thank goodness !  His swimming pool was part of the restaurant, but closed because he didn't have a life guard on duty full time -  as was required by Spanish law. The restaurant itself has gone downhill badly over the years. It used to be a high class expensive place with a top class chef, full to capacity all the time, but when Mariano retired the business became neglected and he put no more money into it. It only ticks over now, giving a living to his family. Shame but, perhaps things will change soon.

Thank you. We had a few meals there last week and really enjoyed it.
