After talking to my local chippy here in the Uk about Panga Fish (it's garbage he said)I decided to do some research on the Web .Most of this fish is farmed in the Vietnamese Mehkong delta (one of the most toxic rivers in the world )with South American fish food that is full of hormones .Catalan stopped giving it to there school children ,that's a statement in itself .A lot of British fish and chip shops have been prosecuted in the uk for substituting it, ie calling it cod .Id be interested to know the Fish and chip shop on Camposol and elsewhere in the area what they use.Good food best insurance policy you can buy .Make your own mind up maybe Google it but for me using a good Australian over used word, "panga no good".

Interesting research, do you know if this fish is also known by any other name(s)?

a lot of research by people more qualified than me on google with all the names involved .Some research on Mumsnet (a useful source of information about anything)but I'm concerned more about fish and chip shops maybe passing on Panga as cod in there fish and chips as has been happening in the uk .it looks good and taste very similar to cod but there the difference ends.Hope this helps
