Wanted: Weed Burner

I know it is frustrating to see the weed.....

I found out that a weed torch will do the opposite what you expect, the weed comes faster, like they love the process. 

Try 500 g salt with 1 litre of vinegar, top up the mixtur to 5 liter with water. Spray the aera - ok you have to do it every 2 or 3 weeks.

An other view to look at it: "Your weed are just flowers growing at the wrong place"

I bought a weedburner from ebay which would attach to a butane/propane gas cylinder as thought, brilliant get much more done cheaper compared to cartridge type. After a little adjustment due to fitting onto a spanish cylinder adaptor, I discovered because the gas from cylinder comes out without any pressure, it was like holding a cig lighter and was useless, also blew out with wind. So returning next visit with one using cartriges as I use one on my Uk garden and theyre brilliant. I also tried electric type, rubbish, like hot hairdryer, took ages to burn (in fact I adapted a black and decker hot air gun of 1600wt (taped to broom handle) which worked a lot better. I didnt know if I could get cartridges here, hence type with rubber hose onto big cylinder but its no good without being pressurised.

I hope all this gives you good info, if so please press "helpful" as I will have saved you some good money. Btw, need to take care if in campo in dry summer as could set up a fire!!

Here me again promoting leroy merlin... weed killer concentrate in half litre bottle. Sure other places and garden centres selling similar stuff as well.

Thanks. I'd heard elsewhere that the electric ones weren't much good.

However, we fly, so we can't bring the butane cannisters.

I think it will be lots of walking up & down with a watering can of weedkiller - good for my 10,000 steps per day, I suppose!

So you read my reply but didn't even hit the helpful button, shame on you after all that info. Thankou "Dangerous" BTW! You can easily buy the cartridges in Spain from most ferreterias at good prices so just bring a weed burner over and you're set. However there are 2 types of cartridge fittings(1 has a screw thread, other like a bayonet fitting so check with what you can get local in Spain and buy weed burner that matches.

(Tongue in cheek) - now that was 'helpful', as I didn't know about the thread / bayonet issue, whereas technically in your first reply you didn't tell me anything I didn't already know and didn't actually answer the question, which was: "Can anyone advise where I can buy a weed burner?"

Wow.!! I was able to tell you they are not available in Spain which answered your question and gave you suggestions on how to avhieve same

I covered my side area with black weed barrier then covered that with 3 ton off white stone, no more weeds, except ones birds drop, they just pull up really easy,
