I'm going to bring a UK registered vehicle to Murcia. Yes I know some will say don't but anyway. UK insurers will only allow three months. Are there any brokers there that would be better?

Call Peter on 0034 968136543 he is an agent for IBEX insurance which is underwritten by Lloyds of London specifically designed for UK expats. All docs in English and we found cheaper than the rest.

As you will have to import it, it is better to go with a local insurer. I used Ibex and then when I imported it they changed my insurance to show the vehicles spanish registration.

Make sure you obtain a European Certificate of Conformance before you come as you will need it to import it. Provided your vehicle was originally first registered in the UK you won't have a problem. If its a grey import then forget it.

Thanks for this. All useful. I just need something to get me around for the next few months. I might move it on before six months is up, or even bring it back t the UK and sell it here.

I had one car that I drove over from UK. I took out an overseas drivers policy through the AA and it was cheaper than normal UK cover. It allowed me to drive in most other countries. Of course you still need tax and MOT.
