This happens everywhere. The Code is that there is nothing you can except slow down or stop. you cant really do anything else about those idiots and best to just get out of their way!!

Hmmmmmmm.  In my experience so far drivers over here are no worse than on my old commute on the M4. BMWs and AUDIs still don't have indicators fitted as standard either here or in the UK 😂😂

Agree, not as worst as in UK, give them better cars, then maybe ...  BMW's I think haven't got the indicators at all!  To compare need to go in France, never saw so much lunatics as in France! And my recent journey wasn't exclusion.

I agree.

If someone is really tailgating me and getting really too close. I just slow down. I have done this a few times. Once it was so bad, I put the hazard lights on too.
The idiots just overtook me and went off to harass someone else.

I favour rear facing Claymores.

Sadly, that would be illegal.

Well said!. There are good and bad drivers everywhere and I often get stuck behind a Brit driving at 20kph on main roads because they are not confident drivers. I'm not surprised that other drivers get annoyed and do the tail-gate thing before driving off to where they are going. Of course, it's not right to do that but neither is it to drive too slowly and obstruct other drivers.

I don't think it's just the Spanish - I've seen the same all over France, Germany, Italy, as well as Spain.

It's wrong and it can intimidate other drivers - however, it does encourage good lane discipline, as most experienced drivers in these countries overtake and then return to the innermost available lane promptly, instead of spending 3 miles overtaking another vehicle and blocking traffic behind; a...

...nd/or just not returning to the inside lane as they can see a lorry a mile ahead!

This is certainly NOT true of Germany . l spend a lot of time there and the rules of the road are strictly enforced, and obeyed by the vast majority of Germans, who are by and large rule takers rather than rule breakers and the police are very hot on the tail of anyone very quickly. Even pedestrians in a side street who want to cross, any oncoming car has to slowdown for them as they are recognised as being in a vulnerable position on the roads .

It didn't take long for this thread to default to mentioning makes of cars! From my experience, most cars don't seem to have indicator switches even thought they have the yellow lamps fitted! In Britain most drivers play the guessing game......or leave them on when not needed.

Not much you can do with tailgaters, and I find Britain and France the worst for it. If you think it's dangerous, pull over and let them pass. The idiot is better in front than behind. Defensive driving, not offensive is the best way.
