You shouldn't need a lawyer, you just need to go to the social security office. Take someone to translate for you.

You do not need a lawyer - just take the S1 form along with passport (with copies) and padron to your nearest INSS office.

We had given up our S1s and registered with Doctors before getting our residencia. When we went for our residencia appointment, they wanted to see the S1s despite our having the paperwork to show we were registered in the Spanish health system. They initially said we would need to come back with S1 forms. In the end they accepted what we had and gave us our residencia cards.

So, depending on the circumstances of your health and the length of wait for a residencia appointment, it may be better to get residencia first. I believe you can apply for copies of the S1. Or copy them yourself??

Good luck.

Hi

I travelled to the social in Cartagena to register my S1 only to be told that I need a certificate of residence(green card) I had my pardon which I got from the town hall.

Does anybody know which form I need to fill in and apply for this green card ?

Thanks in advance
