Heat pump and pool cover depending on the pool size.

Heat pump installation costs probably around 3k depending again on the size of the pool. Electric , solar probably more and solar panels need a space were to locate them.

Check the Quimpools, selling all kind of systems online, bought two saline chlorinator systems of them, good reliable service.

Hello Ray,

We spoke to Simply Solar and they were/ are great. We had 8 solar panels and a sizeable heatpump installed with a lifetime technical back up and app control (means you can have the right temp when you arrive,  if you don't live there full time) all for Eu10K. This was a couple of years ago now,  but I think that process may well have come down as more people adopt solar.

Pls let them know who recommended them....

A less expensive option is to have a solar pool heater installed.

These come in a variety of sizes and, basically, circulate the water from the pool through a series of pipes or panels that are heated by the sun - and then back into the pool. These can cost from a few € hundred up to a couple of € thousands, depending on the size of the pool that you want to heat.

My pool is unheated, apart from via the solar cover and has been between 28 - 34' all summer. My neighbours have a solar pool heater and gain an additional 4' C on average. The advantage is that they are cheaper to buy and cost nothing to run. Clearly the disadvantage is that they don't work if the sun isn't shining!
