Hello all. I wondered could I get a little advice please. Thinking of buying in Spain and just at the beginning of my search. Is the Murcia area, in general, flat? I like the look of Mar Menor/La Manga as seems there's facilities for my adult teenagers and I would need ease of getting around as have a disability and use a walker. There's a golf resort that keeps popping up Torre Pacheo with modern, affordable properties but is it well managed/lived in/affordable? Any ideas most welcome please, we all speak Spanish (mine basic) as lived in Spain for years and don't want hilly, secluded, campo not overly lively on the doorstep. Good access from airport from South England with good onward transport to destination or taxi ride away fine. Looking for us all to use but not live in permanently. Help!!! Thanks

Hi Ros,

We spent 2 weeks on holiday on Torre Pacheo golf resort. Very well maintained resort with Spar shop on site. Bars and restaurants also, plus more just outside. It is a big complex, but never seems to be massively overcrowded. Not sure on monthly fees. Los Alcazares is nearest beach and it's nice with small harbour and broad walk. We didn't want to buy one urbanisation, so brought in Fortuna.

Regards

Mick

We live on Mar Menor Golf Resort whichis in Torre Pacheco andjust a few minutes by car into Los Alcazares for the beaches. There is also La Torre Golf Resort which is about 15/20 minutes from the beaches. Not sure which you mean.

Hi it sounds like Torre Pacheco is closer to the coast than I thought! Is it lived in ie permanent residents or mainly for short breaks/holidays? It may be La Torre that seemed a little more remote/inland. Thank you Ros

Torre Pacheco is the town...very Spanish, very few expats...Mar Menor Golf Resort is in between there and Los Alcazares. The resort has both permanent residents and holiday homes but very few empty properties. There are a variety of villas and apartments, some bargains to be had for bank repossed properties. Very reasonable apartments on the the Boukevard just outside the resirt but not strictly part of it.

This is the facebook page but lots of info on the internet...

Thank you. I now have a starting point. I was told there's also some nice affordable small Spanish areas (fishing port type) on the coast (near La Manga).
