Hi, can anyone advise the fastest way to get an NIE number in order to purchase a property in the Ricote Valley area?  We are travelling to the region in a few weeks' time, but unsure how easy it is to get a face to face appointment and where the appointment wouId happen.  Or is it faster to get it via somewhere in the UK?

The solicitor you are using for the purchase will be able to do all that for you. He/she will tell you the essentials you need to buy a property here.

Good luck with the move.

That's brilliant, thank you. On reading, it felt like it all had to be in place before offering or very soon after and I was concerned about timescales.

Hopefully everything will go to plan.

Hi, get hold of the Spanish consulate in London, ask them to send you the paperwork required for an NIE. Complete this and go to the consulate with all relevant paperwork.

My husband and I did it this way. Took a couple of hours and a very minimal fee of £17.35 each. NIE’s were emailed to us about 3weeks later.

Hope this helps.

The forms are also on their website, plus you can book your appointment online. Very fast and efficient.
