Hi we are a couple who are trying to find a place to live in Murcia. We are currently based in San Pedro. I wondered if anyone had any thoughts about port mazarron

Hi Shirl

Please expand on your statement. London is fabulous but I wouldn't want to live there

Your right , but the  idea of a forum is for people to give their opinions and advice good or bad and to promote or warn others , not to blatantly promote their own business /employer. If they are all like you there I think lie give it a miss

I've got an apartment in P. de Maz which I use mainly for Winter warming trips....Many restaurants close for the period but there is still bundles of life and it's a pleasant place to be. I don't go in Summer (bit of a waste I suppose) because of the heat but I'm told it heaves with people and there is a lot going on.

Occasionally the place can look scruffy as the road cleaners seem to be a bit hit and miss but I like it and one can walk for miles along the beach in either direction. Also they seem to be spending a fair amount on upgrading the promenade and beaches areas.

The port has lots of very nice beaches, restaurantes and bars. I like to visit it but for me, personally, it's too packed in the summer and too quiet in the winter.

It all depends what you're looking for. I prefer somewhere with a more stable community, rather than people coming and going all year round. However, everyone is different.

The Paseo down the port is great in November - "2 coffees please" - complimentary cakes appear by magic, October good for fiestas and events.  Prices of menu del dia's decline nicely.  No crowds or maddening throngs.  Sun still shines and nights are coolling down nicely.  Last January I got 2 return air flights for £98 for a change from frost and ice.
