We purchased in El Alamillo just 3 minutes from the Port in April after researching and visiting various areas in around 20 miles vicinity. We adore Puerto De Mazarron, as its easy for us to get to if we want to be amongst thee bars restaurants and Marina area (obviously the fab beach too, but Alamillo is again just perfect if you want it a little more on the quiet side with another lovely beach and a few bars with nice places to eat too. We bought on a small complex (Res. Axia) which has a great pool, mature gardens and just a great mix of nationalities. We have been ver 3 times since and will be there from the 16th for another 2 weeks. Awesome place, love Peurto to bits . Hope this helps, any questions you might have feel free to contact us

Hi
Thank you for your comments and description of the area , Could I ask if you think you would live there on a permanent basis , since it sounds like you have a holiday home.
Best regards MG

We moved to PdM beginning of August this year. At that time of year (june-Aug 31) it is full. Population grows from normal 30k to estimated 150k. Having said that, there are so many beaches, bars and restaurants that there is plenty of space for all. Predominantly Spanish residents and visitors..hardly any Brits, which is what attracted us to move here. We wanted to move to Spain not a UK resort with sunshine - like Camposol!!
Overall the port offers just what we wanted..plenty of services (health centre, dentist etc etc) you can get by with a bit of Spanish language + Google translate app and the climate is great all year round. The locals are very welcoming and as always appreciate it if you make an effort to integrate. I have found one bar with UK sports TV ( Sully's in el alamillo) as I did not want to miss Rugby World Cup! Compared to places like Torrevieja the port is paradise!!
Totally agree, the place is a hidden gem, we look forward to many more relaxed times enjoying the area.!!
