Hi, I'm looking to find some reliable car hire companies outside of the usual large firms that occur at the airports. From my experiences of doing something similar at Faro airport there are always 'off site' hire firms which are cheaper, but vary in quality and ease of use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Centauro are very reliable, new cars and now include full insurance.
https://www.centauro.net

PS my own experience Stay away from Goldcar, ie pay pennies pay pounds later!
There is no very cheap car hire at the moment I’m afraid.

On Airport at Alicante off Airport at Corvera Airport, but a yellow shuttle bus comes to pick you up outside the airport terminal(Just across the road and wait) you can’t miss it, then only  5 mins travel to depot.

You can build up points to use against future car hire ie 50 points = €50 discount

Book direct with them to cut out the brokers.

Any further info give me a shout, I use them regularly.

Thanks very much, very useful. Have you tried their key locker pick up before?

I don’t use the key locker service.

if you ask they will give you an option to choose which car you want (If available) ie fiat or Kia etc.

Sometimes free upgrade of car.

You now get an email of your invoice and not a paper copy.

Very relaxed company compared to the others.

PS you will receive discount codes via email once subscribed, of up to 40%

NEVER use Gold Car! They are rip offs!

I have never had an issue with Firefly and they are on airport.

SIXT are mega dear.

Hi. Only just saw the message. We fly into Corvera about 6 times a year. Always use Centuro. Very efficient and reliable,  no hidden extras. Yiu tend to get what you pay for.

Centurion is a good company and their Gold Card builds up useful discounts.

Unfortunately they could not compete on price this summer, and I booked through a booking site, with a refundable cancellation option.  Coming up to our trip I cancelled the booked car then re-booked the same car with the same company for 200€ cheaper.

Always use an independent car hire insurance, yearly policy about £50.
