I understand I will become a Spanish tax payer ... how much could we expect to be taxed on the profits from the house sale and our savings?

There are quite a few variables that will affect your tax position...
For example, do you already own a property in Spain? Are you already resident or just planning to move?
Depending on your situation, you may be liable for Capital Gains Tax on profits from the sale (not the whole proceeds from your sale) and you shouldn't be taxed on savings unless you are liable for the wealth tax, which generally only applies to assets over £500K.
