Hello everyone. Me and my family are coming over beginning of August. We are getting our N. I. E numbers early in our trip before making the move over end of August. Just looking for advice on best banks in San Pedro Del Pinitar please. I read banks charge fees which is not a problem but looking for a bank that's easy to use and has an app for online banking. 2nd question is about transferring money from a UK account to a Spanish account. What is the best way to do it so it's secure and easy.

Thank you everyone

Adam

Open a Cajamar Wefferent account in Spain.

No charges at all.

Use TransferWise to move money to Spain at one of the best rates & quickest transfers.

HI Adam

I can't help you with the banks there, but I agree with Roland. We use Transferwise to tranfer money across to Spain and it is very cheap and quick. Have used it many times and can highly reccomend it.

I second Transferwise. Very easy and great exchange rates. There is a referral program so if you know anyone who is already using it they can refer you and you get one free transfer over £200 and they get a fee for every 3 people they refer.

Regarding banks there is also the Imagin account from Caixa bank. It doesn't have any fees and comes with a free debit card.

Definitely Transferwise and I also opened a Starling Bank account. We have just completed our house purchase, are in Spain now and haven't needed to open a Spanish bank account for anything at all.

Good luck.

Does anyone have a email address for Cajamar branch in San Pedro del Pinatar? We are with Caixa and they have introduced extortionate fees! Thanks

Hi Adam, I have had my apartment 4 years in San Pedro just few yards from the marina (Lo Pagan) my first Bank Sabadell having to pay them every 1/4 (3 months) 35 euros and not a good service I changed to Bankinter was less that half the rate for Sabadell and mainly all on line. I am now looking to change again for a no fee Bank CAJAMAR I have been told they are good.

I opened up 2 uk transfer money Banks to play one off against the other, one was Foreign Currency Direct the other is phone app xe currency they give 1 point lower than the currency rate of the day and have used them for the last year and half. UK sterling in to them and 2 working days its in my Spanish Bank in euros at that days rate of asking to transfer and the app will show you live rates.

I hope this is helpful for you I am out the end of August for a week, if you looking for other advise please let me know. It was very strange trying to find information in the area purchasing items and finding good trade people who could fit aircon, kitchen, bathroom but I got there in the end. Best regards Andy Williams.

I have a sterling £ and € account, I hope to buy so I have a holding deposit in the € account

I am intending to transfer about 20% of rest when I think rate is right, why do I need Transferwise  I have checked and Sterling is a better option
