Hi

We are finally coming out this Friday (3rd September) having been unable to get to our house for the last 18 months, so very much looking forward to it!

Just wondered what the current position is on mask wearing please? Any updates appreciated.

The recent post on Antigen tests in San Pedro look good so we will book that when we arrive.

Another quick question what is the situation on using cash v cards in restaurants, bars and shops as in the UK very little cash is being used.

Thank you.

Masks can be removed when in open spaces and on the beach, if it's not crowded or eating/drinking whilst sitting down in a restaurant or bar but should be worn in shops, on public transport and in any crowded area. They should also be worn when not sitting down in eating/drinking establishments, e.g. walking in and out and going to the loo. Cards and cash are more or less as before but contactless cards are obviously a more hygienic way of spending money.

Thank you that is really helpful. Rules keep changing and we really don’t want to break them!

Hi, we've just returned after visiting our house after 2 years absence, it was great.   We wore masks in shops, going into and exiting restaurants and in La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Mall (in and & out doors).  The Spanish people seem to be taking Covid more seriously than some Brits here back at home.  On the coast it's very relaxed but some still wear masks walking around outside, their choice, we didn't outside, except for the Mall.  Cash was widely accepted (supermarkets, stores, restaurants, kiosks etc.) We did our Antigen tests at Medico Centro in  San Javier, we booked 4 weeks on advance, they were very busy - you need to book in advance. I hope this helps and enjoy your trip.
