We do the Bordeaux-Bayonne-Pamplona-Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunt route which works really well for San Cayetano.

I travelled early March on the new ship Galicia (Brittany Ferries) - I arrived roughly around 07:00hrs departed Santander 08:45hrs (after 3 checks - Covid check, Passport Control & Vehicle check) on the Saturday morning and arrived at place of residence in 8.5hrs - granted I had no dogs with me; as my wife had arrived back in Nov 20 with the dogs. My wife arrived early - mid afternoon afternoon with 2 dogs and took 9hrs to reach destination (with 2 pit stops). The journey is easy and pleasant, new ferry is very good and spacious, as previously stated they do have pet friendly cabins.

Many thanks for the note, really useful info.

Beware. This is now the rule for pets after Brexit. The past pet passport is not recognised

Once you’ve completed the above, on the day you travel you’ll need to have an animal health certificate (AHC). You'll need to get one of these from your vet within 10 days of travelling. In order to get one, you'll need to provide proof of:

Your pet’s vaccination history.Your pet’s microchip date.Your pet’s successful rabies blood test result.Tapeworm treatment (this is only for travel to certain countries).

Well done Boris! Another hidden fcuk up. It was simple with the PP.

Hi Ian,

We drive down from Scotland and take the late ferry from Portsmouth.

A nice meal and a good nights sleep sets us up for the next day's cruising ☺

There really is nothing to choose between Santander and Bilbao.

And as has been said elsewhere, the drive down into Murcia is easy and very pleasant.

Best of luck

Chris

Hi Chris, thanks for the note. We have bit the bullet and booked the ferry to Santander from Plymouth next April. Glad to hear that the drive is easy, we are going to stop overnight near Valencia then drive down to our place in San Pedro del Pinatar the next day. Could possibly have done it all in one days drive but w3 have our dog with us so allowing for some pit stops for him. Thanks again. Ian
