Thank you Martin! Like my sister in law always says " Life is an adventure!"  We have adventured through our house hunting experience! It was more exciting than stressful,  I must say. The stress came when our banks started blocking us from getting the downpayment $$ from the ATM! After several attempts we were able to contact them. So far the paperwork seems to be going smoothly as we hired a lawyer. We're excited and... all of the above about our decision in buying in Spain. We bought in El Mojón. We're both retirees from the US. We shall see how it all turns out. We're first going to do half and half then maybe move permanenrly! For now, we're enjoying the rest of our vacation days in Cadiz and learning that we  would have more  QUALITY life here in Spain. That's for sure.  Thank you so much for your encouragement. I needed to hear the " Do not stress" part of it. Made me feel so much better! Will keep your email address as well if I do run into problems. Thank you forever! You too continue to enjoy!

Thank you  Holly!!! Soon very soon! Any advice on house hunting in Spain at large?  Any advice on specific Agencies, in San Pedro/Los Alcàceres area, please please? I am using online agents so far but of course I don't know who's who. I've seen so many houses online sometimes I think I...

... am going to have a stroke. I have all these houses on my favorites so when I get there hopefully the process of physically looking at them will go smooth. Will see....But please, if anyone can share any wisdom from personal experiences and you don't mind making it easy on me, I really appreciate it. You'll be blessed, maybe not my myself but by someone else. Thank you in advance from deepest layer of my heart. THANK YOU!!!!

Hi michaels,

Best advice is use a solicitor when you have decided on property, just as you would in UK. We have used various agents over the years ( since 1986) and found them all pretty good and helpful. The great thing is, they will take you to the property, or a few properties at a time. Take your time. Ideally rent for a little while so you know the area you like best.

It's a great country in which to bring up a family.

Good luck.

Hi there Phil and Fabienne. I've heard that Teleast have a good name/reputation and that signal is good and download speed also OK. I am returning out there this weekend and am going in to see them to discuss installing in the house in Santiago. they have quite a few offices local... Nearest is in Dos Mares.. they have also office in Los Alcazares and in Pilar de Horadada...

Best regards,

Martin

Thank you everyone! This forum was great helping make our decisions. Our lawyers are smoothly handling the process of us buying in Lo Pagan. Can't wait to travel back just to pick up the keys. So excited on our decision to move to beautiful Spain. Infinite thank you to all.
