Hi, we've seen a property we are interested in however the estate agent has said there is rising damp throughout the property. Does anyone have any advice/information /experience about this.

Thanks,

Kenny & Margaret

Is this rising damp as per a damp meter or is it visual ??

Visual would give me cause for concern.

A damp meter reading is just that.

Is it a single story house? Lots of single story houses around here have problems with damp acording to my neighbours. Ours is a duplex and we don't have a problem with damp. You should ask the agent for more information. Can you smell damp when you enter the property? If it is rising damp it might be an expensive job to treat the problem. Good luck. La Ribera is a lovely place and very peaceful. Great choice of location.

Hi Joolz, thanks. We were hoping to view the property in May when we are over so don't yet know how bad it is. It is a traditional single storey property.

Thanks again,

Kenny & Margaret
