loads of English speakers in Santiago de la Ribera but it is mostly a holiday town for the Spanish…..maybe look at Los Alcazares if you want a bigger expat community with lots happening.

We bought a flat in La Ribera 2 years ago, we love it. It's a very traditional location, not many Brits, some Spanish families who mainly come for the weekend or in August. It's not full of ex pats & Brit pubs which is why we like it!

We've lived in Ribera for 20 years and love it there's none of the annoying type holidaymakers . I don't mean to be unkind I'm talking about the drinks holidays. It's a lovely place to live and , as many people have said, has a lot of Spanish holidaymakers in what ,in many cases, are their original family homes. It's very pleasant, peaceful and loads of shops , restaurants and facilities. Enjoy your search

I've read all the replies to date and agree with everything that has been said. Plenty of English & some Irish too. You won't find any problems. I don't know your age group but think Alcazares might be more geared to younger people, maybe I'm wrong but that's my impression. Best if luck with your search.

Hi Rick
We have bought in La Ribera last year. We are in our 50s from Ireland. At the moment we use it as a holiday home but in due course the plan is to be here more.
Can you recommend any nice restaurants in La Ribera please?
