Knock at the door
PLEASE BE AWARE ! I live in Santiago de la Ribera beach side of the Avante Cafe.
On Wednesday 29th November, the doorbell went at 7.20am, still dark outside. A man had spotted me going back into my house after taking the bread off the gate and rang the door bell. He was claiming his car had ran out of petrol and was asking for cash. He offered to leave his phone. And kept saying he only had 2 euros.
He may have been genuine but it seemed very strange that this man was in our quiet road. Why didn’t he call a friend or family ? Why didn’t he have his wallet or card with him ? Or card stored on his phone? The phone also appeared to be off.
All of this was caught on camera, but he cleverly hid his face out of the view.
I had no cash in the house anyway, and also my big rescue dog certainly put him off.
He was a tall slim man, Moroccan looking, spoke Spanish.
So please keep your wits about you.
