Hi

I have seen queries posted about the quality of the sea water in Los Alcazares.

Just wondering whether the beach around Santiago de la Ribera is safe to use

for swimming in the water.

Any advice or comment is appreciated.

Thanks

Ken

Hola   there are many reports on the state of the Mar Menor    all sort of bad     read it is  waste of  farmers  land   being washed down

when it rains    killing !! the water

so I would advise against swimming in it     even the Mud in  San Pedro del pinatar     may be a risk   to use

think     Flamingos   people  waste  +red worms  all add  up

can you go towards La Manga and swim in the Med

mind I was addicted to swimming    been dry a few years now

I would completely ignore these comments from this poster who actually lives inland and not on the Mar Menor.

The water quality is fine in Santiago La Ribera and I see many people of all nationalities swimming and just having fun unfortunately I have not been able to venture in yet owing to a bad foot but will be in the water very soon, and I am sure I will not come out green and glowing

I am also quite sure there would be no problems in Los Alcazares but cannot give a truthful answer because I do not cycle down that way.

There is and has been for many years a problem with run off from the fields but that is mainly further up towards Cartagena and La Manga. Which is unfortunate for the villages on the beaches.

Enjoy a good swim :-).

Hi, we walk every day from santiago to lo pagan, this morning there were hundreds of dead fish ! Whatever people say the water with rotting fish in it can't be healthy.
