The figure is fact and your assessment correct, see my more detailed reply later on in thread.

No, careful don't mix up Euros and Pounds and Singles and Couples

The non-Eu residential requirement is € 26000 for first person then €6000 for each additional member of family.

So a couple will be €32,000

Roberto, I misread the original  post, yes you are correct. However in essence it does not change much other than making it a slightly smaller massive figure. I fear a previous post is correct in that the current crop of pensioners could be the last without a change to UK and Spanish policy to each other.

...to each other.

Agreed. One problem is the cost of health cover. There will be no charge back from Spanish health system to NHS for Brits living in Spain, who currently use their EHIC card.

Those of us who are autonomos pay a significant compulsory sum each month for Spanish hospital and medical cover. Private, comprehensive health cover would be cheaper.

Quite a lot of people on this thread seem to not want to believe what is going to happen ...to the the British after January 2021 ..I dare say that there will be quite a few Duckers & Diver's that just won't listen and end up being fined and ejected from Spain ...one thing the Spanish are very good at is making money by handing out fines... personally I am sick of hearing the word Brexit and will be glad when we the British can start making our own rules again... when we do leave the EU I think Brussels is going to have a job on its hands trying to keep the so called EU together ...you can sertainly bet your boots that they will put a stop to mass migration and so called Freedom of movement as it is at the moment ...they will probably revert back to trade only and visa only stays across the union and the introduction of a point's base systems not unlike the system they have for emigration into Australia and the likes  ...just like it was when the UK joined back in the late seventies ( this was the main reason that the majority of the UK voted twice to leave the EU) ...mass migration and so called Freedom of movement........( Ducking & Diving ) in alot of cases ... will sertainly come to a end.. another very important thing that British expats ..that have become full Spanish Residents seem to forget is although you don't need to pay for  private health yourself Spain... as the British tax payers are going to fund the €4,700 per year to pay for your Spanish NHS care ... when you decide to come back to the UK on holiday you do so as  Spaniards and will need a private health care insurance to obtain health care in the UK as the current E111 EU health card will not be accepted in the UK unless the Spain & the UK can come to some sort of bilateral agreement that will sertainly meet opposition from BIG Brother the EU.
