We are thinking of buying on Camposol and have noticed there  are many properties for sale.Years ago I remember there were some problems structurally with some properties, are there any structural problems now and have the problems been solved.

Do you get resident discounts at the Golf Club(s) in the area

We intend to live there permanently, is there bars/shops/restaurants close by.

 Is internet readily available

Any help/info would be appreciated before we come to visit

Thanks Christine and Gary

Hi Christine,

Subsidence was only an issue in a very limited number of properties but was highlighted by a Homes from Hell special which gave the impression the whole area was falling down - this certainly isn't the case! Maybe about 40 properties in a specific area were affected, although there are some roads/pavements which could do with some TLC and some areas have street lighting issues.

As for facilities there are plenty on the development including a large supermarket, post office and petrol station and lots of restaurants.Internet is available either permanently or on a PAYG basis. Golf club I can't comment as have no idea!

Sectors A&B are closest to the shops and facilities and C to the Golf club. C & D you really need a car unless you are super fit :-)

Chris

Thank you so much that was helpful, I did see the Homes from Hell, but that hasn't swayed me against the move

No reason for it to - it was a made for TV drama/documentary which only highlighted the limited negative issues to deliberately give the impression it was after.

The negativity that seems to continue regarding Camposoil is completely over the top. Yes, there were some issues and these are still being resolved but for the vast majority of properties on Camposol I would say there are no issues - you just need to be careful when you look around

Good facilities as explained on Sector B and (IMO anyway) to a lesser degree on A. You will need a car for sectors C and D but we live on D and find it very quiet and peaceful and only about a 5 minute drive to B

Obviously everyone has their own views and experiences but I would say that Camposol is a really nice place to live

Boring programmes do not make for entertaining TV, the more dramatic the better for viewer numbers and the dialogue and pictorial representation can be risqué whilst remaining within the licencing laws of the country making and airing the programme, it is not unknown for the scene to be "Adjusted" to dramatise the storyline.

Yes there are a few poor people who suffered subsidence in the groundworks below or surrounding their properties, Camposol has this in less than 1% of properties which when searching for a property you will be asking your agent to steer clear of those areas.

Shops on 'B' are aplenty with Butchers, Car Hire, Travel Agent, Bars and Alans shop on 'A'. The main Internet provider is Compusurf in the shopping are on 'B' but there are other providers such as Wi-Max etc.

What makes Camposol a special place to live is the people, the Community spirit and the availability of information from those who have done it before us. We moved here permanently a week ago having bought 18 months ago and it is definitely right for us.

Hi,

Re facilities, what is the bank on site, is it a major one ie Santander?

What is the name of it.

Thanks.

Used to be Santander but that shut and I believe the nearest is Mazarron..? The other Bank is Le Caixa which serves the purpose and this is situated on B close to the petrol station / gym

Think overall between A and B there is a decent mix of shops, bars and restaurants but there are other facilities a short drive away
