Hello, I know this topic has been aired before but I am back in Spain for a while and before I plan a visit to the local Cajamar I was wondering if the Cajamar Weferrent online account is open to non-residents.

It sounds too good to be true what with no maintenance or debit card fees but as a non-resident with an NIE number am I able to open account?

Any help would be appreciated, Cheers....

Yes Michael you are. I changed ours from expensive Sabadell (for non resident account) to Cajamar last March and no fees since then. You must apply in branch not online. I have written many recommendation replies previously so look up on this forum in banking my earlier comments. One at present labelled "bank charges" and earlier ones with tips in case you are anxious as not all branches have english speakers

Regards

Pauline.

I opened a Cajamar Werrent account about a month ago.

I used the branch in Mazarron, they don't speak much English but I managed.

Address here

Calle de la Vía, 133, 30870 Mazarrón, Murcia.

This is actually the other main street in Mazarron it runs parallel to the main street

There is also a branch in the Port

You will need to take your passport NIE certificate AND proof of income.

Proof of income could be pension etc.

I used a UK P60 Tax Certificate.

Hi Roland

I am looking to set up a Cajamar Werrent account when we are next over in May.

You mention about taking your NIE certificate in. I presume the actual certificate is needed and not just your NIE number?

As I've just realised I don't think our solicitors ever gave us a NIE certificate, they just gave us a NIE number.

Thanks

Ryan

I think you need the paper as ours was photocopied on application. Suggest you contact your solicitor as its often needed for other things too.

Regards

Pauline.

As Pauline says they photocopy / scan all your documents so you will need a hard copy.
