Good evening,

We are looking for home insurance and we are wondering if anyone can recommend a company to go with? We have done some research, but the insurance premiums seems to be much higher than in the UK, is this normal?

How much should we expect to pay for a 2 bedroom fortuna style villa?

Thanks for your help

Insurance premiums should be a lot less than the UK.

I pay 135 euros a year for a two-bedroomed villa on Camposol.

I use Ibex insurance brokers.

I pay about the same 2 bedroom Rebecca no pool but hot tub no accidental cover as we have no pets no carpets. Our log burner is covered if it causes a fire as we have if serviced each year

We have been with ibex 6 years. They have now moved next to Ana on A sector

Paying extra having cover outside home imo waste money. If hugger huggers steal your jewelry they wont pay out unless you have been physically injured

There are a few good options for insurance, but one exception is Linea Directa who I would avoid at all costs, as you will never be able to leave them without a ridiculous amount of hassle. They will ask you to call them on a line that is never answered, and even when you follow all the rules of cancellation, giving over 2 months notice etc. they will still take the annual premium from your bank account if they can get away with it.

Following my experience, I would always use someone with a local office and an actual person available to deal with.

Hi Roland,

Can I ask for the price of €135 does this cover renting out?

I’m currently with liner direct- which are reasonably priced but they do not cover renting!

Cheers Paul 👍

We use Liberty as well. Found them reasonably priced and with offices on A, very easy to access if required
