CORONA VIRUS
IF YOU'VE HAD ONE DOSE OF THE VACCINE DOES THE SECOND ONE HAVE TO BE THE SAME DOSE OR CAN IT BE A DIFFERENT ONE ?
Generally the vaccines are the same. My husband had Pfizer (3 weeks apart), I have had my 1st Moderna, my 2nd is 4 weeks later and will be Moderna.
As the rollout of AstraZeneca has stalled because of concerns about blood clots, those who have had their 1st dose of AZ are being given a choice for the 2nd one:

How much weeks are in between, when you first get AstraZeneca and the second Pfizer?

I think the information about the mixing of vaccines is incorrect.
Spain has just completed a small clinical trial mixing the jabs involving 673 people.
"Daniel Lopez Acuna, a former director of the World Health Organization, argued that the small study, with significant limitations, does not constitute a solid base to make public health decisions".

Strange.. because today on the Spanish news, people who had been given their first vaccination with Astra Zeneca a few weeks ago and needed to have their 2nd jab, were being given a choice of the 2nd dose of AstraZeneca or Pfizer. They were all asked to sign a "informed decision" paper before they were vaccinated. As the AstraZeneca vaccine has now been withdrawn in Spain, the thousands of people who have already been vaccinated with it, couldn't wait any longer for their 2nd vaccination, so were given the choice to make.

I will be waiting a very long time before I say yes to the first one tbh!
In the UK there does not appear to be any mixing of the vaccines. Originally there was a 12 week gap between the 1st and 2nd jabs but recently this has been reduced to around 8 weeks
No idea what the rules are in Spain but would assume they could/should be similar

The exact "rules" vary from province to province but since the EU has recommended that the Astra-Zeneca vaccine be withdrawn from use, those people who have already received the first dose of Astra-Zeneca, are being allowed to choose whether to have their 2nd dose of the same or of a different vaccine, either Pfizer or Moderna. Otherwise, people are being vaccinated with the same vaccine for both doses, generally using the recommended period in between, of 21 or 28 days, depending on the vaccine is Pfizer or Moderna. I believe that for younger people, the single-dose Janssen vaccine is also being introduced.
