I'm looking for advice on this subject. If we were to move to camposol and register for residencia, what happens with the UK driving licence when it wants renewing? At 63 not exactly looking to take any Spanish driving tests! I've read it can be exchanged, has anyone done this? Any info would be greatly appreciated

We are in the process of exchanging our UK ones for Spanish at the moment. Using our solicitors to handle it (for a fee) for simplicities sake, you can do it yourself apparently🤔. You need to take a very simple medical test, the hardest part was parting with the 40€ the certificate costs😖. We used the Rover clinic in Mazarron, lucky for us they have good english. We then handed those to the solicitor who then took our UK plastic licence and gave us stamped and signed photocopies for us to retain for proof if needed. As she already had passport, nie and residecia details all that required to complete the pack were photos for the new licence. We got them done at Best Wishes on sector B, let them know they are for driving licence and they will give you the right size. That lot gets sent of and some time in the future our new Spanish licences should appear, fingers crossed.

It may be too late for you to simply change from UK to Spanish licence. You need to be resident to do it, and will find it very difficult to have that status before the UK leaves the EU. They were saying that applications for licence change had to be made before 1st November, but this was I assume based upon Brexit happening on October 31st.

Sadly the votes of a minority of the UK population are bringing difficulties to expats living here, and worse ones to those wishing to come here to reside.

At worst you may have to take a Spanish driving test, so start learning the language now.
