What a shambles......
First time into Alicante for several years.
Automated passport control is an absolute joke.
90% of passports put into the automated machines required manual assistance to work !!!
Pathetic and whoever installed them should be made to stand there and watch the fiasco !!
Appalling.......
I am all for technology but this is ridiculous.

Flew in last night and they worked fine. The problem I had was after collecting the hire car (off airport and there lies another story) and then getting onto the main road towards the A7. Seems to have changed since I last arrived there as somehow I was directed through the departure lane.....had to collect a ticket, and then got stuck in a grid lock as no one could get out! Some kind chap took my ticket and got me another with a few more minutes on it. He told me they only allow 10 minutes free now but the computers don't recognise the problem. My ticket got chucked out about 5 times before the barrier lifted so I suppose that was happening to everyone! Absolute chaos!
I've never had the problem before, but it was very dark and I just followed the Salida sign. Does anyone know of an easier way?
