Hi,

Can any one confirm if the law is the same in Spain as UK re a car service.

In the UK you can take your new car to any good recognised registered garage to have a future service even if your car is still under warranty from the main dealer where you bought it, as long as the service book is stamped, the main dealer still has to put right any faults under there warranty.

Hi....not sure but if you make  enquiries at Decklid....then  I am sure they could do it or point you in the right direction.

Hope this helps?

I think it is European Law, but be careful people are doing this in the UK and facing problems when putting in a warranty claim. You will have to prove the car was serviced to the manufacturers schedule to the letter using genuine parts this will need to be listed and a vat receipt shown. If you use the main dealer all software updates will be done and any recalls.

My advice is you can get it serviced outside the dealer network but you may struggle to get warranty work done and you will definitely get no contribution to a post warranty claim. The car maybe harder to sell and what are you saving against the cost of the car.

Most manufacturers will argue why should they help you if your not prepared to use them.

Not saying this is gospel just how I see it.

Tony
