Driving to Camposol with 2 Cats

Good afternoon,
My husband and I are relocating to Camposol. We are looking to drive over from the UK to Spain. We have 2 cats and are wondering if anyone has done the journey with cats? We are planning on stopping for a couple of nights in a pet friendly hotel or airbnb.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
