Hello there. Myself and my husband are coming over next week to get the feel of Camposol and Mazarron, with the hope of retiring there in the near future. Could you please let me know where the nearest exchange bureau is, and what is the rate at the moment.

Thanking you in anticipation.

They never have a very good exchange rate.

I believe that there is a very good currency changer opposite the garage on Campasol but I believe that you need to be drawing a few K, I used internet exchange. Otherwise you are stuck with between 1.10 and 1.12 to the pound

If you have a Santander debit card you will get nearer the commercial rate of exchange of 1.14 to the euro.

Enjoy

We will be flying into San Javier on Tuesday. :) Might wave as we go past. ;)

Currencies Direct have an office next door to the Caixa Bank (opposite the petrol station) in Camposol. Useful for large fund transfers.

You can use a debit card to draw Euros, but it can be punitive on the exchange rate. If you have a Santander account in the UK, you can get reasonable rates for Euros from Santander in Spain.

Thank you Roland, we are with Santander, thank you for the info. Sorry about previous question asked but our laptop is playing up, we don`t seem to be getting all information at the same time.

Make sure if you use your Santander DEBIT card that you use a Santander cash machine.

When the screen asks you 'Do you want the Dynamic Currency Conversion Rate' or something similar always say no.

There is a Santander branch down the main street in Mazarron loads of parking right outside the door.

Just returned from Camposol this weekend and the news agent of B was offering 1.12 which at the time I did not think was that bad. At the end of the day if you are only changing small amounts then the change is rate is pretty negligible (even £1000 compared between 1.14 and 1.12 is only 20 Eur)
