I have spoken to both husband and wife on the phone. As I said earlier, they are Spanish and he speaks better English than she does. We just needed to specify which category car we wanted, then we got a quote via email. We accepted the quote, emailed a copy of driving licence etc. Then got confirmation via email.

Between 2016 & 2019 (couldn't get over in 2020....) I have used Goldcar about 10 times and have never had a problem with them. Yes at their counter in the Airport they will try and sell you their (expensive) comprehensive insurance, I just politely inform them that I have taken out "car hire ...

...excess insurance" in the UK and they don't press me, does mean leaving a large deposit on credit card though.
When collecting the car from the multi storey, check it over VERY carefully BEFORE leaving car park; if it's in a dark corner, move it to a well lit area (especially if it's black!) and go over it carefully panel by panel looking for any damage not recorded on the paperwork, don't forget wheels, roof, mirrors, lights etc. If you do find any drive car to the office and report it, they will photograph the damage and amend the paperwork to suit. (I've found damage on 3 occasions, some I suspect caused by staff moving vehicles around the car park as they were scrapes on corners?)
Check the T & C's for mileage limits, fuel policy (I use full to full) etc.
Overall I've found the staff to be helpful and polite despite often being under-manned & overworked.
As for bad reviews, all car rental companies have them, even the big names, partly I suspect because few people bother to leave reviews unless they have a bad experience, despite my good experience with Goldcar I've never bothered leaving one.
Obviously one of the lucky ones.
Did EXACTLY as you did but they still scammed me for Euro750.
OP - just check online posts and keep well clear!!!!

Are you for real ? How many responses have I given you ? 5, and the op 2. I've told you the website, told you their address from said website, told you the procedure to book, other than book it for you there's nothing else I can do ! I couldn't care less if you use them or not, was just trying to help a member out. Don't bother replying with another rude comment ! Not interested.
