Yes agreed Ginger.
The bureaucracy in Spain would drive you to drink........but at least it is cheaper 😀😀😀

I moved to Spain 33 years ago with a toddler and a six week old baby.
Spain is like any other place you work, as long as you work hard their is a great life to be had.
The only problem with working solely with Brits they always expect cheaper prices. Due to the fact their are so many people working out side of the system that can give cheaper prices because they don't pay tax etc.
I was told when I came I was crazy, how would my kids cope etc etc.
I'm still here and most of the people who expressed doubts have gone.
Work is work, expand to all nationalities, why limit yourself to only Brits.
If your confident give it a go, then you can never say what if.
The biggest downfall is some people come and forget it's not a holiday and spend all day in bars and partying.
Good luck, if your sensible and work hard, their are lots of rewards.

If they give it a go I wish them well, but really hope they don’t drive over in a UK van (that cannot be made legal in Spain) and work in the cash-in-hand black economy, especially when the UK is no longer in the EU and foreigners will be more scrutinised.

Not all ex pats are like you describe, I know in my 15 years of living In various parts of Spain that the majority who are earning a living are doing so legally admittedly there are some who are not but you can tell a mile off who these are.

I never said all ex-pats are on the black, but too may are. Personally, I would not deal with anyone using a Brit-reg vehicle, and look for trades with proper sign-written transport and shop or office premises.
I’m sure if my son decides it’s really what he wants, he will do it all legally and comply with All the rules and regulations of working in Spain. Well, I certainly hope he would, otherwise I may have to give him a clip around the ear 😄
