As I am thinking of moving over to camposol maybe in the next year or so. I wanted to know how stress is it? And if and when we decide is there good lawyers once that won’t abuse your trust. Also  estate agents.

One other question that would help us is what are the  Utilities  Bills that you pay for, like do they have council tax are the bills ok do you get  statements  Everything mon

Stress in terms on actually moving out here or actually living here...?

We used Mercers to buy our property and they did everything else for us. They lined up the solicitors and insurance and they sorted out the switchover of the utility bills. So, apart from the fact of being in the UK so not totally in control of what was going on I would say it was done very smoothly with little or no stress

We do not live on Camposol but use it as a holiday home taking about 5 breaks a year and it is the best thing we have done. as soon as you arrive, soak up the sun and look at your pool you immediately appreciate why you bought the property and the stress from working life in the UK simply evaporates

Between the bank, the lawyers, the insurance companies everything is sorted in terms of bills and being advised well in advance of what is expected to be paid

Thanks for that

And yes it was both living and buying, it's alway good to hear about someone else experience and names of companies that you have used.

If we can we would luv to buy and live there, but with  Brexit  On the go who knows

Thanks for getting back to me

Personally would not worry about Brexit as for me, I cannot see how it will have much of an impact, but of course final details are not known. We decided that extra time in the sun was worth it and I am looking to retire this year and my wife will at Xmas so next year we will be spending more time in Spain while still retaining our property in the UK

Spain and the Brits go hand in hand and to lose all our income from the ex pats and the tourists would really hurt them economically so for me while there may be some subtle changes like getting a driving licence that covers you abroad if you are non EU or possibly requiring a visa these are minimal costs to us while trying to be seen to make a statement

If you are stressed, then believe me, a few weeks/months in Camposol would relive that for you

Hi

Regarding the utilities bills , water and electricity , be careful , my Solicitor set up the accounts,

our property is new build , our initial bills showed consumption/usage of both water and electricity ,

over the period they billed us for the property was empty , so no usage was possible, we have

been charged a considerable amount of money , I am considering going legal on this , it is a nightmare .

Apart from that our purchase of the property and the legal paperwork went quite smoothly

regards

Mark and Lynda

As far as I am aware water is automatically charged every 2 months or so regardless of usage sand this only changes if you use more than the allocated amount per year (topping up the pool etc.) As for elctricvity we leave our pool pump on all year round as well as the fridge in the kitchen again regardless of whether we are there or not

No idea if this would apply or not but have to say we have not encountered any issues since our purchase 3 years ago

There is a standing charge for water and electricity. We pay around £35 a month. Whether we are there or not.

Council tax is much cheaper than the UK. Ours is around £300 per annum.
