Hi Everyone

We are seriously thinking of buying a property in Camposol (2 bed with roof terrace).  We have a small budget (50K euros) but we want to by by mid next year and eventually retire to Camposol.  We are in our 50s now. We would rent a car but look to buying one too.  We dont mind some cosmetic work to the property but we are not looking for a project.

We see a lot of properties for sale in Camposol but I believe there are different zones etc.  Any advice at all is really appreciated.

What is it like all year round?

What are the facilities like?

Is it safe, and easy to meet people?

Are there any areas to avoid?

Thanks so much in advance, we are excited but nervous too about it.

Kind regards

Karen

Hi,

Lots of questions just as we had before we moved over.

You must come out, rent for a week or 2, then look around all.

Ask questions, people are great, call into MERCER,S estate agents in the square on B, and talk to Dawn or Christina.

Do your home work first, you will then have no regrets, as we have none.

Would you move into a property at home without first looking at the street / shops / neighbours/ road / shopping  / of course not.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.  Yes, we do plan to come out and visit over the next 6 month a couple of times but I have heard such conflicting information I just want to ask people that are actually living in Camposol their views.

Community spirit & activities are very important to us as we do plan to retire there but we will use it as a holiday home for the next 10 years.

I will definitely get in contact with the agency you have recommended.

Kind regards

Karen

Hi Karen,

The community are great, and everyone helps each other, certainly in our road, and our experience of just asking people on a night out.

When we moved in a year ago, we were lost, but the community showed us everything, and took us all over, and they would accept nothing in return.

Now its our turn to help newbys, and we do.

As for keeping busy, you will have to some times say NO, as there is so much to do and going on, you will want to have a break.

10 years is a long time, ( enjoy yourself its later than you think )

We bought this year - we only had one visit and fell in love with the place.

Yes there are historic issues which we were advised about, not just from Luz Del Sol, also our solicitors we used.

It's a big step, the buying process is easier than the UK and less stressful - make sure you use good solicitors.

There are solicitor's that Estate Agents use, we used E&G Solicitor's In Spain (based in UK & Spain) will explain the process - important information they advised is not to pay the agents and kind of deposit. Also get a survey done on the property - our solicitor's sorted out everything from NIE to Utilities.

Good luck and happy house hunting.
