I'm buying a rebecca style property and want to use part of the front into a conservatory, does anyone know the cost and whether I need planning permission

Hi we have one on our Rebecca. It was there when we bought so I dont know the cost I'm afraid. However my lawyer insisted that the conservatory was added to the deeds and this cost the vendor €1200

I am sure it does but you will need confirmation from a official source.

There have been examples of people receiving large fines for not having the proper permissions for this sort of work.

My understanding is that 'temporary' structures do not need planning permission. This includes UPVC structures for bedrooms and conservatories as they can be removed or taken down at any time.

A brick built conservatory would of course be a different matter as its clearly night temporary

Ours has been added to the land registry at a cost of 1200. Our lawyer said if it was not added and paid for by the vendor it could cause us problems later and especially if we sell. He is an expert so we took his advise. You are best seeking legal advise.
