I know a few people that have Villa's that they rent out to holiday maker's ...they seem to do OK ..as they live on Camposol full time they tend to  look after and maintain the rental Villa's themselves which cut's out the middle man...Villa's that rent very well tend to have swimming pool's the small so called Villa's that you can buy for around €50,000 do not have much holiday maker rental potential but they do rent out very well to long term renter's  ...realistically you are looking at only 14 weeks rental per year to holiday maker's...as for work as a painter you will need to go self employed you will do OK just on Camposol ..it's a big place with approximately 5,000 properties on a site 6x4 klms in size...good luck.
