swimming pool heating

Realistically you can only use a pool without heating for 12 week's...so if you are thinking about heating your pool for the reminder of the year / 40 week's ...you are looking at approximately €50 per week = €2,000 electric per year to heat it using the cheapest method ..the cheapest method to heat your pool would be a heat pump but it is one of the most expensive to install ... approximately €3,500 ..the pool water would need to be stay at a constant temperature 24hrs per day to be affective ....the figures I quoted are for electricity only ...you will need  to take the water bill into consideration with the water evaporation from the pool.

We have a heated pool with a heat exchanger type heater.(4000€ but installed with pool)..we dont heat in the winter months as its far too expensive and its too cold when you get out!! We heat from early April until November depending on the weather and we like it warm so around 32C ....in the summer the thermostat obviously turns off the heating most days and we keep the themal cover on when we’re not using it....it probably costs an average of around 100€ a month in electric but we use it every day and its worth every penny....

Without heating it probably would only  be warm enough for us for a month or two in the summer!!
