I would recommend Malenie at the Gestatoria in Mazarron - across the park by Costa Hotel down steps and office to the left. She will arrange your appointments e.g. first to get your fingerprints done etc. then second to hand in your green card and collect your TIE card. Yes you have to pay €12 at the bank and keep your receipt and Malenie charges about €35 to do all the arranging. Simples.

Hi there,

It really is an easy process to go through yourself. Citizens Advice Spain have a step by step guide at this link. https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/updating-your-green-certificate-for-a-tie-simple-steps/

We decided to do it ourselves as we wanted to experience and deal with the Spanish system. Since then we have completed many other ‘bureaucratic’ procedures and learned an awful lot on the way that will stand us in good stead.

Just a couple of tips that may be helpful. You can use the bill payment option at bank atm’s to pay the €12 fee and use one of the receipts you receive to prove payment. You do not need to queue up at the bank to pay.

Secondly, if you can choose an afternoon appointment time, if you are going to Murcia. In the morning it is very busy. For our appointment, we were on our way home before our allotted time as it was so quiet. If you prefer getting help, then Melani, mentioned above, is an excellent choice if you are in Mazarron.

Hope this helps a and good luck.
