How far are facilities from sector D, are they within walking distance, bike/scooter ride or is there transport round the sectors?

D Sector is by far the largest sector, so the distance will differ depending which poligono you are in. We are at the far end of D sector and the closest facility is the golf course, which is two miles away. The shops, bars and restaurants on B sector are a similar further distance. The remaining bars etc on A sector are a few minutes further away. Although we are regular walkers and cyclists, we would not be without our car, especially as we often travel outside Camposol and for that, a car is pretty essential, especially if you plan to live here permanently.

The only transport other than booking a taxi, is the Campobus, which is a subscription based service that offers transport to the shops etc on A and B sectors between certain hours. They have a Facebook page.

Hope that helps?

Thank you for your reply. We think we are coming over next April, we have to go to Tenerife first. We love the look of the villas on Sector D & thought we might buy a scooter as well as having a car. I think we are going to try the 2/3 day tour with 2buy2sell2let. It looks a perfect place to be, we are not bothered about being right by the sea, but I am reading a lot of conflicting stories. We are planning to come permanently if we can meet all the new criteria

I am quite near the beginning of D and I can walk to B in 45 minutes but no way could I carry shopping back or attempt it in the summer.

When someone plucks up the courage to put some facilities on D they will be well supported

Doubt council will allow shops or bars to be built on D.

There was a vote for an outdoor gym on D  ( and dog park ) and it had the most votes so could be installed next year by the football pitch

Surely there is a precedent as the original plans apparently had a commercial sector I am unaware were it was as have never seen the original plans would be interesting if any one as access to a copy and placed it on this forum

The original plans for D sector did include provision for a supermarket / shop.

I can't just locate the original plans anywhere at the moment.

I think the biggest problem is that there are not enough permanent residents to make it worthwhile opening a shop or a bar.

You need a very large footfall to operate places these days.

A launderette opened on D and was also a small shop selling essentials like bread milk etc. But that shut.

There was to be a crazy golf installed on C recently but I believe the council wanted too much money to install an access road so didn't continue.

Here's a snip from Google Earth.

It shows a distance of 3.22 kilometers  (2 miles) line of sight from the Consum supermarket on Camposol Sector B to the big roundabout at the junction of Avenida de los Covachos & Calle Pteras on Sector D.

The road isn't straight :)

It's quite a way & some form of transport is essential
