Contact Aqualia explain what had happened & see what they say ??

You will not be the first person that this has happened to.

I needed to know why so I got my solicitor to check water uilities in MAZARRON and it would seem that the Bank for some reason did not pay , my first action was to check if there was enough funds to pay bill ........plenty . But this is Spain , however I still had to pay reconnection fee.

Sounds like your problem is with your bank & not Aqualia then.

Surely if you set up a direct debit, it's up to the company to draw on that account as you've given them permission. Providing funds are there it should be OK. I'd ask the Bank if Aqualia actually requested it.

Through a cockup mine was turned off one Monday morning,  no warning, no nothing, the van just pulled up and disconnected the supply. Even though it was aqualias fault I still had to pay €80 reconnection and even though miguel at the bank pulled some strings it still took 3 days to get reconnected. Good luck!
