Hotel between Bilbao and Camposol

Plenty to go at in Burgos,one night then all the way.

Bit of a detour from Bilbao but we always like the Hotel San Antonio El Real in Segovia, just a bit north west of Madrid.

Takes 4 hours from Santander with coffee stops and then another 6 hours to Camposol with coffee and lunch stop.  The hotel itself is quite a place and an easy walk into Segovia follows the Roman aqueduct.  Almost worth stopping 2 nights and spending the day exploring Segovia.   Roads round Madrid and south towards Albacete are péage which avoid the heavy traffic, other options are available.

Hi there, we do that journey 4 times a year. If your ferry docks around 2.30 ish pm it’s a 4 1/2 hour drive from Bilbao to just south of Madrid. We stay at the Ibis hotel, Arganda Del Rey, it has parking around the hotel, which we are happy to leave our well packed car in, a small bar/ cafe attached ( Lizarran’s) also Burger King behind hotel and a petrol station. Very large, clean modern comfortable rooms, around €55 a night.( Also dog friendly for those who travel with pets- but extra charge of €10-15 for pet— very over the top!,)

Then from there to Camposol/ Mazarron next day is around another 4 hours. It’s a relaxing way to drive south rather than try and bat all the way down in one go. Good Luck, Jaz
