We own a home near Fortuna, and are thinking of adding solar heating to our pool to extend it's season. Any tips/advice on the desirability/cost of doing this? Its an 8x4 inground pool.  Interested in anything from general thoughts to specific experience. Any recommendations on suppliers/fitters welcome. Thanks

Peter

For us solar heating just doesnt heat the pool enough...especially early and later in the year no more than 26/27 which is too cold for us!

Hi Peter, I've just had solar panels installed by Trisolar (a Fortuna company) I also asked about heating the pool but it was around 8,000 Euros. Considering I paid less than 6,000 for the house electricity it made no economic sense. A solar cover does help keep the heat in early and late year.

Morning Steve,

Would you recommend trisolar? We are thinking of adding solar panels to our home here. Also can I be rude and ask how many panels and cost please?

Regards

Mick

Hi Mick,

Trisolar were very professional and efficient and yes I would happily recommend them. Felix Mazon Aix is the boss who quoted me with his number 2 Jody Choupas who speaks excellent English. I have 8 panels and an inverter that can connect to several more for just under 6000 Euros. The whole job took less than 2 days. If you want to visit and see please message me.

I'm interested in this - do you mean solar thermal to directly heat the pool water, or is there an option to use the electricity generated by standard solar panels to power a pool heater?

Hi RichT, they had two options the first was to fit additional panels just for the pool and the second was to use the roof mounted panels with an additional heat exchanger to feed the pool.

By all means contact www.trisolar.es based on the outskirts of Fortuna. Mention that you have spoken to Steve & Maggie and they will know who you mean. Jody Choupas speaks very good English.

Thanks Steve, I was seeing quotes from €4500 - €6000. Would prefer a local company. Once Inget the outside kitchen built I will contact them.
