Car hire Italy

I would avoid Goldcar at all costs - from personal experience; and also they have been investigated by the Daily Telegraph and Which? magazine as the most complained about car hire company in Europe!

I have used Centauro in Spain and never had any issues and they also operate in Italy.

Interesting comment Rich …… we have a flat in Fuerteventura and I have noticed that none of the hire cars now have the normal Goldcar yellow sticker on the rear window !!

They all now have a similar yellow/gold sticker that reads “Meta” or similar !,

All readers of this forum, PLEASE do not use this company …… they will use all sorts of tactics to take extra money from you. They rejected my credit card twice, after the card company gave them an authorization number, forcing me to take out their extortionate insurance cover. 
Once I returned to the airport desk a few days later, demanded the Complaints Book and after they refused to give it to me, I contacted the Guardia Civil, who came to the desk with me, was my money refunded.

NEVER use them please, even through car hire brokers. Always look who you are getting the car from before you complete the contract.
