We are thinking of purchasing a property on either Las Terrazas or Hacienda Raquelme. What are peoples thoughts on each golf resort. Pro’s and cons etc would be useful.

Appreciate we need a car to get around as they are both away from the coast.

Any information is much appreciated.

Cheers

Ray

Hi, my wife and I bought on Las Terrazas in 2014. Was a bit of a gamble back then coming out of the global recession however in the last 3/4 years the resort has gone from strength to strength with entertainment on regularly in the clubhouse and a market during the warmer months. Security are amazing and the overall feel and community make buying in LDLT a great choice. The resort is being repainted currently so this is making the resort feel like new again. The local villages Roldan and Balsicas have a large choice of dining/drinking places with coastal resorts a  short hop away.

Mark,

How much of the resort is still unsold Mark ? and what percentage of that are properties still ever to be lived in compared to resales ?  Are there any areas/blocks "to avoid" so to speak as they are like "ghost blocks". What blocks / areas would you recommend if buying to live on there ?

Thank you

Brian and Sarah

Hi both, over the last 2 years there has been a very large uptake on bank owned apartments meaning there is much more of a community than 5 years ago. There are still some unsold apartments but with the banks releasing so much more of their stockholding these are being sold quickly as prices are still very good. I have an apartment on La Isla which houses the only 2 skeletons but this does not detract from my experience. As many of the white blocks are undergoing repainting the resort as I say is beginning to look like new again and the flood defences that have been put into place since the last Gota Fria seem to have worked well with the heavy rains that Spain experiences during the rainy season

Hi

We boughtbin Hacienda 2 years ago. We don't live there permanently but visit as often as we can. We love it. Security great, local town Sucina has everything you need and you are about 15/20 mins by car away from everything. If you want any other info feel free to message

Thank you guys, if you live there just roughly how much would your "normal" outgoings be per month ? I know for example you would have to "guess roughly" the block fee. Also if you want to wait until the driving licence agreement is sorted can you "get by" without a car for a period of time ?

Thanks guys

We own an appartement on Terrazas and are very happy. There are no ghost blocks anymore as most appartements are sold now. The 2 skeletons on La Isla are also sold and will be finished soon. The rest of the undeveloped land is also sold and that will be developt with either appartements or villas.

Golf course is one of the best.

Hacienda is more Spanish styled built with covered in built terraces, Terrazas more modern with open style terraces. That is just a personal taste. Great thing on Terrazas is that all aircon compressors are placed on the roof, you do not hear them or see them.
