partial retirement in and around lorca, any tips or advice

Hi been visiting Lorca ,Costa Calida for a few years with villa hires, rentals etc., while looking for a plot of land to build, been almost 5 years but have finally found somewhere and the long slow legal process etc,also the vast difference in exchange rate since we started visiting the area, any recommendations from making the move from holiday rental to holiday home for several months of the year, love the weather and looking forward to partial retirement, any advice on settling in be greatly appreciated .

Love the outdoors, fishing on the coast and even establishing some sort of garden.
